Our home alarm systems in Palm Harbor put a contact on every exterior door and window, including the openings others don’t count as entrances, like the screen enclosure door or the one from the garage into the kitchen. Motion detectors cover the floor space inside. Near a slider onto a lanai or a fairway, where one pane of glass stands between the room and the yard, we add glass-break sensors.
That same panel watches for fire and water. Detectors by the heater and the air handler catch a leak while it’s small. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms report on the same line, and so does a panic button that calls for help with one press.
